This year why not forget the flowers and chocolates and give your mom something that will appeal to her sense of humor. Something that will make her laugh, not just smile. If you think that your mom hasn’t got one, then you’re very mistaken. It may feel like there has been little room for humor when she was bringing her up, but that wicked sense of humor has always been there, just waiting for the right moment to be unleashed.

Help her Keep to Her One Drink Limit

Does your mum love a glass of wine, but is always very keen to remind her offspring of the one glass limit? Give her a wine glass that is big enough to hold a full bottle of her favourite tipple. She’ll be able to sip away all night long, safe in the knowledge that she’s only had one. We’ll leave it up to you whether you want to remind her that it was a very large one.

A Humane Bug Buster

Summer days of sunshine and high temperatures always conjure up memories of mum swatting those bothersome insects. Trying to keep party or BBQ guests happy and untroubled by pesky bugs. The nature lover inside of her probably hates every single swipe of the fly swat, so why not give her a more humane way to deal with flies, wasps and bees? A nifty little vacuum sucks up the insect, so she can safely release it away from the dinner table.

A Humorous Mug

How About Some Funny Mother’s Day Quotes?

Comedians talk about mother’s quite a lot. No surprise really because they are an integral part of growing up. Let’s see if they can make you laugh too.

“My mom got me and my friends a breathalyzer. I got it for my birthday so we can monitor when we’ve had too much, which is the dumbest gift because it just turns into, ‘How high can we blow it?’ That’s great for that irresponsible gift.”
– Nick Swardson

“Moms should look like my mom looked when I was growing up: just defeated. Defeated. With a dead look on her face like she’s going to leave the family and go on a killing spree at any minute. Hopeless.”
– Joe DeRosa

“My mom made me think I was gorgeous. When I was younger she was like, ‘Look at you! You’re an angel. You sparkle!’ And I was like, ‘I do!’ You believe your parents.”
– Amy Schume

“My mom had me when she was 15, so I know the younger the momma, the more jacked up your name will be.”
– Finesse Mitchell

“You ever drive with your mom as an adult? I would rather pick up an escaped convict. At least they’re satisfied. My mom, she doesn’t really say anything out loud, she just makes that noise that moms make when they think they’re about to crash, which is roughly every 10 seconds.”
– Gary Gulman

“I’m friends with my mom. I get along with her real well. Now that I’m old enough to have children I’m regretting virtually everything I said to her until I was 30.”
– Brett Butler

“I told my mom I needed a haircut, and my mom goes, ‘Oh, I can cut your hair for you.’ Really? Hmm, I’ve got pictures when I was 11 that say you can’t.”
– John Heffron

Some Odd but Interesting Mother’s Day Facts

The oldest woman ever to give birth to a baby was a 65 year old school teacher in India. Believe it or not in 2003. This was her first child, after 50 years of marriage, and she had a baby boy. Not surprisingly eggs were donated by her 26 year old niece.
The shortest gap between two siblings is just 208 days. Jayne Bleakley first gave birth to a son on November 19, 1999, and then a daughter on March 30, 2000.
The honor for the longest gap goes to a lady called Elizabeth Ann Buttle. Her first child, a daughter, was born on May 19, 1956. Forty one and a half years later she gave birth to her son, on November 20, 1997.

Old or young, first time or seasoned mother, we wish you all a Happy Mother’s Day.
